Daniel Beretta, known as the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has died at the age of 77. His friend Jean-Luc Reichmann paid tribute to him with a touching obituary on Instagram.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has lost his French voice. The actor, known for films such as ” Double Impact ” (1988), “Total Recall ” (1990), ” Last Action Hero” (1993), “True Lies” (1994), the ” Terminator ” saga (1984) and “The Expendables” (2010), had his voice dubbed by Daniel Beretta . The 77-year-old died earlier this week in Ajaccio, Corsica. His death comes just weeks after that of Alain Dorval, who lent his French voice to Sylvester Stallone. His friend Michel Vigné announced the sad news on Facebook: ” Friend, brother, pal… Goodbye Daniel, I send you my love .”
Daniel Beretta was also a voice actor on the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Daniel Beretta wasn’t just the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also provided the voices of Ernie Hudson, Rutger Hauer, and Alan Rickman. He voiced Lumière in the animated film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and the mayor in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). He also gained fame as an actor, appearing in films such as Wild Summer (1970), Dust in the Sun (1972), Nightcrawler (1988), and Cyrano de Bergerac (1990), to name a few. Since the American series Law & Order : Special Victims Unit began in 1999, he has also provided the voice of the French actor who provided the famous scream.
